    Franklin Mountains State Park

    Franklin Mountains State Park allows for activities such as mountian biking, rock climbing, hiking and horseback riding. The park has 44 picnic sites with shaded roofs, tables and barbeque grills for day use. There are some basic tenting sites as well as five RV sites for campers. None of them have water or electricty. No ground fires are permitted.

    El Paso Tin Mines
    Located in Franklin Mountain State Park are what remains of the only tin mines in the States. There are trails leading to the sites, which can be found on the east side of the North Franklin Mountain.

    Hueco Tanks State Historical Park

    Visit an old ranch house that serves as the park's interpretive center. Other activities include visiting the ancient rock paintings, picnicing, hiking, rock climibng, star gazing, and guided tours.

    Ascarate Lake City Park
    This is a 400 acre municipal park featuring a 44 acre manmade lake. Swimming is not permitted in the lake but there is a nearby Olympic sized swimming pool, and fishing on the lake is accepted.

    The Chamizal National Memorial

    This memorial was established to recognized the peace treaty between the United States and Mexico concerning boundary issues. The memorial is part of a 55-acre (22-hectare) park with an outdoor amphitheater, a museum and a gallery.
