This event, put on by the Chihuahuan Desert Education Coalition, will bring educators out to Franklin Mountains State Park's Tom Mays section to offer tours and demonstrations about the animal and plant life of the Northern Chihuahuan Desert. The event will run from 9am to 4pm and the admission fee to the park will be waived for its duration.

The name Kermezaar comes from the Greek word for carnival, kermes, and the word bazaar. This combination of a busy market and a lighthearted, carnival atmosphere has been retained since the inception of this art fair in 1971. A number of regional artisans come to sell and display their work at this event, the largest art fair in the southwest. The fair features auctions, jury awards and a student exhibition.
